FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas coach Sam Pittman went to the Catfish Hole on Wednesday, still proud of the offensive drive that sealed the Razorbacks’ 31-24 victory over Cincinnati in the season opener last week.
With 5:49 remaining, Arkansas received a kickoff from the Bearcats, who had just scored for the fourth time after halftime and had two timeouts remaining. But the Razorbacks never gave back the ball as quarterback KJ Jefferson converted a third-and-9 and third-and-2 with first-down runs.
