Arkansas softball remained unbeaten with a 6-2 victory over Loyola Marymount on Friday at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, Calif.
It continued the program's best start to a season for the 10th-ranked Razorbacks (13-0), who will face a challenge Saturday with a doubleheader against Baylor and No. 4 UCLA, beginning at 12 p.m. Central.
Loyola Marymount (3-9), the preseason No. 2 team in the West Coast Conference, ended a streak of four consecutive run-rule victories for Arkansas. It was the Lions’ third loss in a row.
The Razorbacks took a 1-0 lead in the first inning without recording a hit.
