FAYETTEVILLE -- Brandon Allen passed for a career-high 308 yards and four touchdowns and No. 18 Arkansas used three Texas-El Paso kicking-game blunders in the second half to blow out the Miners 48-13 in Saturday's season opener.

Keon Hatcher caught two touchdown passes in a big first half and Alex Collins rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown as Arkansas won its ninth consecutive home opener before an announced crowd of 67,708 at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

"It was really good to get back on the field in a game-day atmosphere and put the helmet to other people, so that was a lot of fun today," said Allen, who celebrated his 23rd birthday by tying his career high with the four first-half touchdown passes.
