A two-run lead with an All-American and potential first-round draft pick on the mound is going to be a safe lead more often than not.
It is hardly guaranteed.
Arkansas relinquished a six-run lead Sunday against South Carolina and the Gamecocks socked a three-run home run off Zach Jackson in the eighth inning to provide the winning runs an 8-6 series finale. South Carolina swept the three-game series at Founders Park and sent Arkansas to an eerily familiar hole.
Jackson, the Arkansas closer, came in for Keaton McKinney after the starter gave up a double, two singles and a triple with two outs in the fifth inning.
