Arkansas featured perhaps the most impressive rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” this week. Artist Joe Everson sang the entire song while painting prior to a basketball game at Bud Walton Arena.
Upon concluding the song, Everson turned his painting 180-degrees to reveal it’s previously unrecognizable subject matter: US Marines planting the American flag on Iwo Jima.
It’s not the first time the painter has showed off his skills while singing the national anthem. In October, Everson sang and painted prior to an ECHL hockey game.
The artist has several paintings and photography featured on his website, which includes a section dedicated to his national anthem performances.
