There was more good news for Hogs fans on Jan. 2 than just a blowout win against Kansas State in the Liberty Bowl.
Indeed, the commitment of four-star standout running back Devwah Whaley was actually equally good news as the win.
At the time, the need at running back was fairly concerning. It’s been magnified with the expected announcement of Alex Collins declaring for the NFL Draft last week.
With freshman Rawleigh Williams’ status uncertain following a serious neck injury this season, the Hogs need a featured back. Whaley fits the bill nicely and should start immediately.
