HOOVER, Ala. - If Texas A&M’s defense is, in fact, the 1982 Chicago Bears, the Aggies won’t be any better than they were last year.
Kevin Sumlin misspoke when talking about his team’s defensive hopes for the 2015 season at Southeastern Conference Media Days on Tuesday. He meant the 1985 Bears, the Super Bowl Winners led by Mike Singletary and William Perry.
Of course, last year they were more like that ‘82 team (the Bears went 3-6 that strike-shortened year). Texas A&M’s defense was 13th in the league stopping the run and 14th in stopping the pass last year.
