Earlier this week before the University of Arkansas women’s track and field team headed to Philadelphia for the Penn Relays, Razorbacks Coach Lance Harter made a prediction about the 6,000-meter relay.
“That’s a collegiate record that’s primed to be broken,” Harter said.
Harter was right, and it was his Razorbacks who did it.
Arkansas’ team of sophomore Isabel Van Camp and seniors Logan Jolly, Lauren Gregory and Krissy Gear combined to win the 6,000-meter relay in the Championship of America race in 16 minutes and 53.87 seconds at Franklin Field to edge North Carolina State, which was second in 16:55.
