FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas women's track and field team regained the nation's No. 1 ranking Monday, just one week after losing it.
With a strong showing at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., the Razorbacks jumped ahead of Southern California, which now sits at No. 2 in the poll.
At the event, Arkansas athletes broke two school records. Chrishuna Williams ran the 800 meters in 2:01.61, winning the race breaking Aneita Denton's 10-year-old record.
The other record came from Dominique Scott, who ran the 5,000 meters in 15:32.55. That broke her own school record and was second among collegians at the invitational.
