The University of Arkansas Board of Trustees approved Thursday to purchase $120 million in bonds to pay for expansion to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
At a meeting in Morrilton, the board passed the motion by an 8-2 vote. Trustees David Pryor and Cliff Gibson voted against the measure.
Arkansas' athletics department plans a $160 million expansion to the football stadium that will add 4,800 mostly luxury boxes, suites and club seats by 2018. The athletics department has promised to pay back the bonds through ticket revenue and private donations.
