The No. 13 Arkansas Razorbacks gymnastics team Saturday fell short of advancing out of the NCAA Iowa City Regional by 1.05 points.
But Arkansas junior Amanda Wellick qualified for nationals with an all-around score of 39.350. She was the second-highest all-arounder who was not on an advancing team, joining Mollie Drenth of Iowa, who posted a 39.450. Among all competitors, Wellick finished fifth.
The Razorbacks (195.500) finished behind No. 1 Oklahoma (197.575) and No. 12 Nebraska (196.550) to finish third. The top two teams advance to the USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships on April 15-16 in Fort Worth.
