FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas Board of Trustees will vote this week on whether to modify the name of the Razorbacks' baseball stadium.
UA-Fayetteville chancellor Joseph Steinmetz and UA System president Donald Bobbitt have recommended changing the name of Baum Stadium to Baum-Walker Stadium at George Cole Field, according to an agenda for the meeting that will be held at the UA Medical Sciences campus in Little Rock. Trustees are expected to vote on the proposal Thursday.
The request comes eight weeks after the Willard & Pat Walker Charitable Foundation pledged a $5 million lead gift toward the construction of a $25 million operations center on the stadium grounds.
