FAYETTEVILLE - Twenty-seven days before Arkansas clinched another trip to the College World Series, the Razorbacks departed on a 6-hour bus trip to Omaha, Nebraska.
In its final nonconference game of the regular season, Arkansas played a game against Creighton at TD Ameritrade Park, home of the College World Series. The Razorbacks' 6-2 win over the Bluejays received little fanfare at the time, but it planted a seed in the minds of the Arkansas players.
They were going to make it back to Omaha.
"Our strength coach (Mike Strouhal) said to enjoy that ride up there because we're going to make it again," center fielder Andrew Benintendi said.
