FAYETTEVILLE — It is rare nowadays to find an Arkansas team in any sport without at least one transfer in a prominent role.
The Razorbacks’ football team had 12 former transfers on the participation chart against Florida on Saturday, including starting quarterback Feleipe Franks and running backs Rakeem Boyd and Trelon Smith. Combined they were involved in four of Arkansas' five touchdowns.
Some of the transfers (like Boyd) came to Arkansas via junior college, but most played previously at another Division I program, typically in a Power 5 conference.
Without transfers, it’s fair to wonder if the Razorbacks would be so competitive under first-year football coach Sam Pittman.
