BATON ROUGE -- LSU's Craig Victor II grabbed a three-point air ball from teammate Antonio Blakeney and stuck in a putback layup with 4.2 seconds left, then the Tigers escaped on Anton Beard's missed three-pointer at the buzzer to outlast Arkansas 76-74 on Saturday.
A crowd of 13,610 at the Maravich Assembly Center was treated to a thriller in which the teams never were separated by more than five points in the second half.
Beard had driven hard against Ben Simmons for a tying layup with 37 seconds remaining, and the Arkansas sophomore drew a foul on the play.
