In happier times for Razorback basketball 25 years ago this week, the team reclaimed the No. 1 national ranking that they had lost after losing to Alabama early in SEC play.
Poetically, the Tide were the team invading Bud Walton the next time out and promptly were handed a 102-81 beatdown punctuated by senior Ken Biley’s slam near the ending.
Corliss Williamson led all scorers with 20 points. Scotty Thurman had 13 and Al Dillard and Roger Crawford combined for 26 points off the bench.
The tenacious Razorback defense forced 25 turnovers and limited Alabama to 3 of 12 shooting from behind the arc.
