One of Nolan Richardson’s most impressive finds of his career was Dillard, a 25-year-old sharpshooter living in Alabama who was looking for another shot and had been bagging groceries.
Coming into 1993-94, no one knew what to expect from Dillard, but it became apparent quickly he was a scoring machine with range anywhere in the front court.
In his third game against Northwestern State, he came off the bench in the first half and scored 16 points in just 1:53 of game time.
However, it was the Delaware State game where his legend really began to grow.
