FAYETTEVILLE — It's not breaking news to say the Arkansas defense was one of the worst in school history in 2016.
Yes, the competition was some of the best in school history, but giving up a school-record 39 rushing touchdowns and allowing 5.9 yards per rush is just plain awful.
No one was surprised after the season when Robb Smith moved on and found a new job at Minnesota. He knew he was going to be demoted from defensive coordinator. He could have stayed, but he was going to be working under new coordinator Paul Rhoads.
So what happened to the Arkansas defense last year?
