FAYETTEVILLE — Missouri State managed only five hits, but two of them left Baum Stadium in a 5-4 victory over Arkansas in the winner's bracket Saturday night in the NCAA Tournament.
The Razorbacks will need three victories over the next two days – without a loss – to advance after entering as the No. 1 seed. It's the kind of big picture scenario that Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said may need to be pushed to the back of their minds for a bit.
Missouri State played from the lead most of the game, after lead-off man Hunter Steinmetz homered on Blaine Knight's second pitch of the game, and Justin Paulsen cracked a two-run homer in the third.
