FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas senior decathlete Nathanael Franks walked into the hotel ballroom where the SEC held its annual awards dinner May 28 in Destin, Fla., trying to figure out where his seat was among the many round tables on the floor.
Someone told Franks he was looking in the wrong place. He had a seat at the head table.
During the banquet Franks sat between SEC Commissioner Mike Slive and Arkansas Chancellor David Gearhart.
Franks had no problem feeling comfortable.
"I had a great conversation with the commissioner and the chancellor," he said. "We definitely had a good time.
