Rosario “Rose” Richardson was many things to many people. She was the wife of legendary Arkansas men’s basketball coach Nolan Richardson, but she was more than that, too.
She was a loving mother to a daughter gone too soon, a second mother to dozens upon dozens of Nolan’s players, an animal-lover, Nolan’s “best friend,” a fantastic cook and baker, a woman who was always kind but never put up with any nonsense.
Rose died Sunday at the age of 84. She was on the family’s ranch, surrounded by people who loved her as much as she loved them.
