A series of upsets by unranked home teams in the Southeastern Conference turned the college football world sideways Saturday.
Seventh-ranked Alabama lost 24-3 at Oklahoma, ninth-ranked Ole Miss lost 24-17 at Florida and 15th-ranked Texas A&M lost 43-41 at Auburn in an overtime game that came down to alternating 2-point tries.
The results left Georgia — a 59-21 nonconference winner over Massachusetts — as one of the SEC Championship Game participants. The Bulldogs will face the winner of next week's Texas-Texas A&M game in Atlanta on Dec. 7.
Tennessee, which was on the outside looking in at the playoff coming into the week, was eliminated from SEC championship consideration, which likely strengthened the Vols' playoff hopes.
