Much was written and said about UALR's rally to overcome a 14-point deficit with just over four minutes to play against Purdue last Thursday, but that took a back seat to what happened Sunday when Northern Iowa lost a 12-point lead with 44 seconds to play and then fell in double overtime to Texas A&M.
It was the first time in NCAA Tournament play that a team had blown a 12-point lead inside the final minute.
Perhaps, though, it wasn't just poor play by the Panthers.
Maybe they ran out of luck. A half-court shot at the buzzer gave them a victory Friday over Texas in their first game.
