FAYETTEVILLE — When Robyn Herron threw the final pitch in a no-hitter against Louisiana-Monroe for a looking strikeout Sunday, there was some confusion at Bundrick Field in Ruston, La.
Herron was aware of her accomplishment and excitedly rushed to meet catcher Kailey Wyckoff. The two began to celebrate, but senior first baseman Bri Ellis was puzzled.
The No. 10 Arkansas (10-0) softball team had capped an unbeaten weekend with a 10-0 victory and had won every game in run-rule fashion. But was it worth the level of excitement Herron and Wyckoff were showing?
Lo and behold, many of Herron’s teammates were unaware she had a no-hitter in the works.
