The New York Mets have recalled Matt Reynolds from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced Friday.
The move comes after Mets third baseman David Wright was placed on the disabled list with a herniated disk in his neck.
It will be Reynolds' third stint in the big leagues. He was originally called up during last year's playoffs, but never appeared in a game. He made his major-league debut last month when he was promoted to temporarily fill another roster spot.
In eight games with the Mets, Reynolds went 1 for 10 (.100) with one walk, one run scored, a sacrifice bunt and three strikeouts.
