Report: Weems will sign with Suns

FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas forward Sonny Weems is reportedly getting a second shot in the NBA.

Citing sources, ESPN reported Wednesday that Weems will sign with the Phoenix Suns. The contract is for two years and worth $5.8 million, according to the report.

The Suns have yet to officially announce the signing.

Weems, 29, last played in the NBA during the 2010-11 season for the Toronto Raptors. He played three seasons combined for the Raptors and Denver Nuggets, starting 47 times and averaging 7.7 points per game.

The Chicago Bulls drafted Weems in the second round of the 2008 draft, but traded him to Denver.
