John L. Smith is reportedly taking a new head coaching job in Kentucky.
Smith, who coached Arkansas to a 4-8 record in the 2012 season, will accept the head coaching job at Kentucky State, according to FootballScoop.com. Kentucky State is a Division II HBCU program located in Frankfort.
Since being dismissed by the Razorbacks three years ago, Smith, 67, has coached Division II Fort Lewis College in Colorado. Smith's record there was 14-19, including 7-4 this season.
Smith resigned at Fort Lewis on Wednesday, according to a release from the school.
Kentucky State would be Smith's eighth head coaching position since 1989.
