FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas secondary coach Deron Wilson is expected to be hired as the defensive coordinator at Georgia State, Matt Zenitz of CBS and 247Sports reported Thursday.
Wilson, 34, spent two seasons with the Razorbacks. In his first season in 2023, Arkansas ranked fourth in the SEC in passing yards allowed per game with 202.8.
This season, the Razorbacks were last in the league with 246.9 passing yards allowed per game.
The Georgia State job would be Wilson's first defensive coordinator position at the FBS level, but he spent two seasons as coordinator at FCS McNeese State from 2020-21.
