The Redskins stayed with the SEC for their fifth round pick, taking Arkansas linebacker Martrell Spaight. The 6’0″ 236 pound Spaight will provide much needed depth on the inside for the Burgundy and Gold.
A consensus first-team All-SEC selection during his senior season at Arkansas, Spaight recorded a team-high 128 tackles along with two forced fumbles and an interception.
During his junior season, the six-foot, 236 pounder recorded 22 tackles along with a sack. During his first-career start in a game against Samford, Spaight recorded a personal season-high in tackles with seven.
Before becoming a force in arguably college football’s best conference, Spaight was a monster for Coffeyville Community College, as he recorded 130 tackles with 13.
