FAYETTEVILLE — So often in football, and especially early in the season, the winning team makes the fewest mistakes.
Or, put another way, teams that make the most mistakes lose.
That was the case Saturday inside Reynolds Razorback Stadium when No. 19 Arkansas defeated 23rd-ranked Cincinnati 31-24. Overall, the Razorbacks were better in three key areas — special teams, penalties and turnovers.
The Bearcats had miscues in the kicking game, several poorly timed penalties and a pair of turnovers that Arkansas converted into touchdowns. The Razorbacks were guilty of their own miscues, just not as many as their opponent.
