Brandon Allen became the eighth Razorbacks football player to be named to a preseason watch list Thursday when the Allstate Sugar Bowl announced the 30 quarterbacks on the initial Manning Award watch list. The Manning Award is given each season to the most outstanding quarterback in the nation.
The senior starting quarterback for Bret Bielema’s Arkansas squad recently returned from the Manning Passing Academy where he served as a counselor. The third-year starter is the most experienced returning signal caller in the SEC with 25 starts under his belt, including the last 21 games.
Allen passed for 2,285 yards and 20 touchdowns against 5 interceptions as a junior when the Hogs finished the season 7-6 after a 31-7 bowl victory over Texas.
