FAYETTEVILLE — It was not the season opener Javon Franklin had in mind.
Franklin (6-6, 200), a 2019 Arkansas recruiting target and former Little Rock Parkview star, suffered a broken bone in his leg during Holmes (Miss.) Community College’s 88-75 win over Copiah-Lincoln on Thursday night.
Franklin was 3-of-3 from the field and had six points, three rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 11 minutes of action before suffering the injury trying to take a charge, according to Holmes head coach Jason Flanigan.
“Another player fell on him as he was trying to take a charge,” Flanigan said Friday afternoon.
