FAYETTEVILLE — Kendall Diggs hit the first game-winning home run of his life in front of the largest crowd he had ever played before.
The freshman designated hitter from Olathe, Kan., said he had never hit a walk-off home run before Saturday night, when his three-run homer in the ninth inning gave Arkansas a 6-3 victory in front of a season-high announced crowd of 11,736 at Baum-Walker Stadium.
Among those in attendance were several of Diggs' friends and family members.
“It’s crazy,” Diggs said. “You know, I can’t even really fathom it. I’m just blessed to even have the opportunity to be in that situation.
