The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose award is given out to the country’s best Division 1 offensive player that was either born in Texas, played at a Texas school or graduated from a Texas high school. Because of course, Texas has their best Texan football trophy.
Let’s think about that for a second, though. Texas is a place that lives football. Be it J.V., varsity, college or the NFL and because of this, there is a ton of really good players from Texas. For Williams to be a semifinalist for the best player out of a state that puts out RIDICULOUS talent is huge.
