Prospect of Stealing Pushes Sam Pittman, Matt Rhule To Feel Uneasy about Spring Games

One of the hottest debates in college football hinges on what to do with spring games. Arkansas will still hold one this year, but many programs won’t.

As spring practices begin to ramp up around the country, Nebraska is one of those throwing tradition out the window. It has instead elected to go a more modern route by hosting a skills competition – a la the NFL’s Pro Bowl skill competitions – called the “Husker Games.”

A spring game in the Nebraska football program dates back to the 1920s and has been played annually since 1950, so old-timer fans will probably not be over the moon with this change.
