Portis Goes Pro

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas sophomore forward Bobby Portis announced Tuesday he would declare for this year’s NBA Draft.

Portis, a 6-foot-10 forward from Little Rock, was a second-team All-American and Southeastern Conference Player of the Year after leading Arkansas to its most successful regular season in 20 years. He averaged 17.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.

He posted a screenshot message on Twitter to announce his decision.

“Unbelievable experience for me at the University of Arkansas these past two years. The love I have for this program is unconditional but I’ve decide to forego my junior year of college to take that next step and enter into the NBA draft.
