Change is coming to the College Football Playoff that will have massive trickle-down effects on both Big Ten and SEC football, including at Arkansas.
According to a report by Ross Dellenger of Yahoo! Sports over the weekend, “momentum is building” within the top two conferences in college athletics for an expanded playoff beginning in 2026. They are exploring 14- and 16-team models that include as many as four automatic bids for themselves and fewer for ACC, Big 12 and Group of Five leagues.
While the Razorbacks haven’t even sniffed cracking a hypothetical 16-team College Football Playoff field in more than a decade, the change would impact them because of what else it would entail.
