Pitching fails again as Hogs fall at Ole Miss in Game 2

Cliff Lee could throw at this point for Arkansas and an opposing team would strike him for a run or six in the first couple innings. Nick Schmidt, same thing.

Arguably the two most successful pitchers in recent Razorbacks lore, Lee and Schmidt, would have to come back to the team for Arkansas’ starting pitching to be functional. The team’s best current pitcher, Zach Jackson, gave it his best try Saturday. It ended about the same as everyone else who has given it a whirl.

Badly.

No. 14 Ole Miss clinched the series against Arkansas on Saturday night, striking for four total runs in the first two innings, building a lead large enough to withstand an all too-typical Arkansas rally and winning, 14-9.
