It ain’t over til it’s over. Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze found that out the hard way this past Saturday, as his team, leading 52-45 in overtime against Arkansas, gave up a first down on 4th-and-25 after tight end Hunter Henry threw the ball over his head backwards to running back Alex Collins, who was able to gain 31 yards. Arkansas later scored, went for two, and won, 53-52.
Freeze, it turns out, celebrated a bit early. In the below photo, taken by Matt Bush of USA Today Sports, the Ole Miss head coach got a bit ahead of himself, throwing his arms up in the air.
