FOXBORO, Mass. — New England Patriots fans can thank Adam Sandler the first time Trey Flowers sacks an opposing quarterback.
Flowers, who the Patriots selected out of Arkansas with the 101st overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, said he grew up watching “The Waterboy” and channels Bobby Boucher when he’s out on the field.
“I think it just comes with the love of the game,” Flowers said Saturday in a conference call about his high motor. “Obviously I’ve been loving the game since I stepped foot on the field at 7 years old. I just love the contact, the passion and the energy that comes with it.
