FAYETTEVILLE -- It was a nice 23rd birthday bash for Brandon Allen.
Arkansas' fifth-year senior quarterback celebrated with more than 67,000 of his closest friends Saturday afternoon by lighting up Texas-El Paso's defense and leading the 18th-ranked Razorbacks to a 48-13 victory at Reynolds Razorback Stadium in the season opener.
"It was just fun to watch him, especially on his birthday," said Arkansas linebacker Brooks Ellis, who also was Allen's teammate at Fayetteville High School. "He had a great day."
Allen completed 14 of 18 passes for a career-high 308 yards and 4 touchdowns without an interception.
