Freshman Paityn Noe set an Arkansas track and field and SEC indoor championship meet record in the women’s 5,000 meters Thursday in College Station, Texas.
Her time of 15 minutes, 11.27 seconds topped the previous meet record set by Arkansas’ Sydney Thorvaldson last year by more than 31 seconds. She beat the program record set by Katie Izzo in 2019 by 1.82 seconds.
Noe, who set the program record in the 3,000 on Feb. 14, pulled ahead at the start of the race and never gave up the lead. She finished ahead of second place by 16.
