FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas' productive first inning Friday took a reversal of fortune.
Leadoff hitter Casey Martin legged out an infield single on the game's fourth pitch, but was called out by first base umpire Eddie Newsom. Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn challenged the play and it was overturned upon replay review.
Martin's hit sparked a two-run inning that helped propel the No. 8 Razorbacks to a 5-3 win over the No. 22 Rebels.
"Getting that overturned obviously was huge," Van Horn said. "He really hustled down the line. He got out a little bit in front of an off-speed pitch and got out of the box.
