BENTONVILLE — Bryce Boettcher wasn't content to be a walk-on in one sport, he went that route in two sports.
The Oregon senior linebacker began his collegiate career as a walk-on on the Ducks' baseball team and earned his way into a 2024 MLB Draft selection by the Houston Astros as an outfielder.
Boettcher, a multi-sport standout at South Eugene (Ore.) High School, had never lost the itch to get back on the football field, where he could deliver hits instead of trying to get hits.
So he walked into Ducks coach Dan Lanning's office and told him he wanted to walk on the football team.
