Oklahoma State homers 4 times, downs Arkansas baseball in first game of doubleheader

FAYETTEVILLE — Four home runs powered Oklahoma State to a 6-3 victory over Arkansas in five innings Saturday at Baum-Walker Stadium.

The Cowboys won the first game of a doubleheader against the Razorbacks and evened the weekend exhibition series at one game apiece. Arkansas won 8-1 in nine innings Friday.

The teams are scheduled to play their final game beginning at 1:50 p.m. It will also last five innings.

Oklahoma State homered in the top of the first, second, third and fourth innings and never trailed in the first game of the doubleheader. Braylen Smith’s two-run homer against Will McEntire in the top of the third put the Cowboys ahead for good, 4-2, and answered a two-run second inning by the Razorbacks that tied the game.
