Samford was thought to be a good team before it came into Bud Walton Arena on Friday night.
Maybe it will still end up being a good team. It didn't do itself any favors though by turning the ball over 19 times and shooting 32 percent from the field for the game en route to a 95-56 beatdown.
It's got to be a good feeling for Mike Anderson to see the effort defensively from his group on opening night. Anytime you hold a team to 19 points in a half, you're doing something right, no matter the opponent.
