OXFORD, Mississippi – Brandon Allen was the hero of Arkansas’ 53-52 overtime win over Ole Miss on Saturday. Besides his flair for the dramatic, he also had his best career game from an objective, statistical standpoint.
Allen threw for a career-high 442 yards. He threw for a school-record six touchdowns. He threw zero interceptions. And he put Arkansas above .500 in SEC play for the first time in his three years as starting quarterback.
With all his high marks, he made several moves on the Arkansas career-leader list. Allen became the fifth quarterback in school history with 50-plus touchdown passes and passed Matt Jones for fourth (55 to 53).
