No. 25 Ole Miss run rules No. 10 Arkansas softball in SEC opener

Mistakes and missed opportunities led to a disappointing SEC opener for the Arkansas softball team Friday night in Oxford, Miss.

The 10th-ranked Razorbacks fell behind due to unearned runs and they stranded 10 runners before the dam broke in a 9-1 loss in 6 innings to the 25th-ranked Rebels.

Arkansas (19-2, 0-1 SEC) had a five-game winning streak snapped and lost its conference opener for the first time since 2018. Ole Miss extended its winning streak to 14.

It was a pitchers’ duel until the game’s final inning, when the Rebels (19-3, 1-0) scored 7-runs, including a walk-off triple by Persy Llamas.
