No. 1 Oklahoma holds off No. 15 Arkansas softball for doubleheader sweep

FAYETTEVILLE — Four-time defending national champion Oklahoma scored three unanswered runs to make sure its lengthy winning streak would not come to an end Saturday at Bogle Park.

The top-ranked Sooners (25-0) defeated the 15th-ranked Razorbacks 6-4 in Game 2 of a doubleheader to win the series and push their winning streak to 28 games, dating to last season.

Oklahoma blanked Arkansas 7-0 in Game 1.

Arkansas (20-5, 1-4 SEC) will look to avoid being swept when the teams play Sunday’s scheduled game at 11 a.m.

“I liked our fight better in the second game,” Arkansas coach Courtney Deifel said.
