Javontee Herndon has emerged as one of the Chargers’ top receivers.
With a pair of wide receivers on injured reserve, Herndon has seen his playing time increase, both on offense and in special teams.
In the San Diego’s 10-3 loss to the Chiefs, he caught five passes for a career-high 47 yards. He also had a 34-yard kickoff return.
It was Herndon’s second game against Kansas City. He has 10 receptions for 84 yards in those games.
His biggest catch was a 6-yard reception on fourth down on the Chargers’ final drive. While San Diego didn’t score, it kept the potential game-tying drive alive.
